Before mass-produced plastic combs, barber combs were made mostly by hand. A solid sheet of plant-based plastic was cut into the rough shape of the comb. The tines were then cut in with sawblades before being shaped and polished by hand.
The result was a rigid and durable comb that did not create static electricity. Tortoise shell combs may have given way to cheaper materials, but nothing replicates the feel of hand cut & polished tines.
Our combs replicate the tools of yesteryear, from the materials to the handmade finishing. With wide tines, the Seaforth comb is designed for beard and hair, to restore smoothness and shape to both.
