When I first made Lavender Vanilla soap I made a mistake by not keeping meticulous notes of the scent I blended. I didn't expect it to be so popular and I figured it would be a "one batch" scent. As it turned out, Lavender Vanilla became one of the most popular scents I made, so I deciphered the few notes I had taken to recreate it.
My second batch smelled similar, but somehow not quite as strong. So for this third batch I think I have closely matched the first run.
For this iteration I increased the lavandin content for a richer, more camphorous scent. I also increased the amount of tonka, texas cedar and coriander so they are more noticeable off the puck and in the lather. Finally, I increased the overall concentration of the fragrance in the soap so the overall scent is more pronounced.
The result is a very nice balance of mellow lavender with bright citrus, sharp cedar, peppery coriander and a warm foundation of tonka and vanilla. I think you'll enjoy!
Formula 20.1E: This formula has proven to be a winner in lather quality, slickness and post shave. It performs as well, if not better, than the 17.x but is easier to lather and far less thirsty.
